Osteopathy is a patient-centred system of healthcare that specialises in the diagnosis, management, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal and other related disorders. Osteopaths primarily use movement to help the body, applying specific exercises to appropriately improve strength and mobility, and performing skilled manipulation of the spine, joints and soft tissues. Further self-management advice is often given to help enhance recovery and rehabilitation and enable greater patient engagement.

Osteopaths assess each patient by taking a thorough case history and performing a clinical examination to help better understand the probable cause of symptoms. This is then used to discuss personal treatment plans to help achieve the best outcomes.
